Astrodyne TDI, Mouser sign distribution agreement
Astrodyne TDI, a manufacturer of EMI filters, has signed a distribution agreement with Mouser Electronics. Acquired by Tinicum, L.P., in November 2017, Astrodyne TDI also manufactures a wide range of power supplies.
The company's line of EMI filters reduces interference from outside sources as well as minimizes outgoing interference on AC and DC power lines. AC filters include single-phase as well as three-phase Delta and Wye connections. Some filters mount inside equipment housings, while others are built into AC power cord receptacles. Some contain power filters integrated with power on/off switches. Filters are available in medical-grade and military-grade filters as well as commercial-grade.
Line filters are often used to reduce conducted emissions or improve susceptibility. In the schematic below, you can see how a line filter works. Capacitors across the line input and from the output terminals to signal return divert high-frequency content away from the load. RF chokes in series also block high frequencies.
